Engine Oil & Filter Change

Engine oil is what lubricates a car’s engine, allowing it to run smoothly and last longer. Car owners must maintain a car’s engine by changing the oil and using the oil appropriate for their cars make and model. Experts recommend changing the oil and filter in your vehicle every 3 months or 3,000 miles, which ever is first. If you drive a diesel powered vehicle, experts recommend changing the oil and filter every 4 months or 5,000 miles, which ever is first.   Oil changes at 7,500 miles, or more, intervals are usually to long for most common driving conditions in our area.

Oil changes are an essential way to maximize engine protection. At Harper’s Auto Repair we offer a number of different oil change services depending on your vehicle’s needs. Whichever service is chosen, a very thorough multi-point inspection is included so that you will know what condition your car is in and what maintenance or repair services might be needed now or in the future.

Cooling System Service

We install the powerful BG cleaner and use special equipment to flush the entire cooling system, including the heater core, to remove rust, scale and sludge. Refill with new coolant mixture and a special BG conditioner to protect the cooling system for the next 30,000 -50,000 miles.

Brake Fluid Service

Our skilled technician will remove contaminated fluid from the entire brake hydraulic system and replace with a high quality brake fluid. The entire brake system is inspected for leaks, master cylinder corrosion, worn pneumatic parts, harmful varnish build-up, and air in the brake lines.

Driveline Service

Remove old worn out gear oil front the front and rear differential and transfer case. Refill with quality BG Ultra Guard gear oil and correct OE type transfer case fluid.

Fuel System Service

This three part service uses specialized tools and BG cleaning products to clean fuel injectors, throttle body chamber, plenum, intake valves and air intake to remove harmful carbon deposits. A BG injector cleaning additive is poured in the fuel tank for more carbon buildup cleaning and protection over a longer period of time. This service restores lost power and “like new” performance to the engine, reduces harmful exhaust emissions, and removes accumulated carbon deposits from oxygen sensors.

Power Steering Flush

Our skilled technicians use a powerful and safe BG cleaner to dissolve and suspend gum, varnish and deposits that form in your car’s power steering unit. Next, we flush all the old contaminated fluid out of the system and refill with BG’s high-tech power steering fluid to protect against noise, wear, and leakage in the system.

Automatic Transmission Service

Using our highly effective transmission fluid exchange machine, our skilled technicians will install a safe and effective BG cleaner to suspend harmful varnish, sludge, and carbon build-up and then flush the contaminated fluid from the transmission valve body, torque converter and lines. The transmission will then be refilled with a high quality transmission fluid that meets or exceeds OE specifications and a BG conditioner to protect the seals and extend fluid life. This service provides smooth shifting and extends the life of the transmission.

Crank Case Cleaning Service

Why put new oil into a dirty engine? Our skilled technicians will install a special BG cleaner into the crank case before draining old engine oil and circulate it for 45 minutes to soften, emulsify and dissolve those hard to remove carbon deposits, restoring compression and lowering tail pipe emissions. A new oil filter will then be installed and premium engine oil will be used to refill the crank case. BG’s MOA, an oil conditioner additive is installed. This service reduces oil consumptions by restoring ring function and improves overall power and engine efficiency.

Diesel Induction Service 

As part of the Diesel Induction Service, the BG Diesel Induction Service Set sends BG Diesel ISC^® Induction System Cleaner^™ through the EGR runners and the fresh air intake. Particulate matter from diesel exhaust falls out of suspension during the cooling process and will constrict or plug the EGR valve, EGR Runners and the air intake manifold. When carbon builds up in a diesel’s induction system, you have a diesel gasping for air. And carbon buildup can completely plug the EGR in less than 20,000 miles. This aggravates already existing drivability problems of rough idling, hard starting and poor fuel economy. Unparalleled by any other diesel service, the BG Diesel Induction Service Set chemically cleans each part and restores the vehicle to peak performance without engine tear down.
